Awards and recognition ceremonies recently celebrated the achievements of 59 Wor-Wic Community College graduates who earned associate degrees in nursing (ADN) and certificates of practical nursing (CPN).
The nurse pinning ceremony was modeled after a tradition started by Florence Nightingale in the 1860s, and initiates nurse graduates into the profession. For ADN students, the keynote speaker was Kate Wyatt, a nursing instructor and critical care nurse, and the student speaker was Nakyah Taylor. For CPN students, the event featured a keynote address by Jacquelyn Failla, assistant professor of nursing, and the student speaker was Seth Tayman. Special awards were presented by Sarah Wray, director of nursing.
