Return of Federal Financial Aid

Some of your financial aid is dependent on how long you remain in your classes, or if you complete them. Find out the details below.

Students are awarded Title IV funding under the assumption that they will complete all courses in which they are enrolled. Students receiving federal financial aid who withdraw or cease attendance in all classes may be required to repay the college a portion of the federal aid funds received for the term.

  1. If you withdraw, drop or stop attending all scheduled classes prior to the 60% point of the semester, then you may be required to pay back all or a portion of the financial aid you were awarded.
  2. If you are receiving Title IV federal financial aid (with the exception of Federal Work-Study) and receive all F grades, then you may be required to pay back all or a portion of the financial aid you were awarded. The amount is calculated based on the last date your instructors reported that you attended class.

Attendance Policy

  1. You are required to attend all scheduled classes. You will not be awarded financial aid for a course/courses for which you have been reported as a no show.
  2. If you drop or decrease credit hours, financial aid is decreased, and you are responsible for any charges incurred. Students are awarded Title IV funding under the assumption that they will complete all courses in which they are enrolled.

Financial Aid Repeat Policy

  1. Federal regulations state that students may receive financial aid for one repeat of a previously passed course. This regulation applies if you are trying to raise your GPA to improve your chances of admission to one of the limited admission programs. This regulation also applies whether or not you received financial aid in previous terms.
  2. All repeated coursework is counted as attempted credits; W and F grades are negative grades that impact your completion rate (see Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy).
