Jail and correctional officers graduate

Twenty jail and correctional officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Dorchester, Talbot and Caroline counties graduated in the 102nd entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall on the college campus, featured a commencement address by Jamie L. Dykes, interim state’s attorney for Wicomico County.

Donald Rollyson Jr., assistant director of the ESCJA, and Carl L. Crumbacker Sr., ESCJA coordinator, presided at the ceremony. Derrick J. Humphrey of the Wicomico County Department of Corrections was the class speaker.

In addition to Humphrey, graduates included Carley M. Brown, Jeffrey A. Hampton and Michael S. Hill from the Wicomico County Department of Corrections, Beth A. Forsyth of the Worcester County Jail and Detention Center, Paul A. Dunford, Benjamen J. Fisher, Leavitt R. Horst Jr., Mary L. Jacobson, James E. Lawrence Jr., Aaron T. Mercer, Daniel B. Mills, Deanna E. Nitzel and Christopher Sanon Jr. of the Eastern Correctional Institution (ECI), Joseph W. Bradshaw and Allison P. Whitman of the Dorchester County Department of Corrections, JàHaven L. Johnson and Ashley N. Molock of the Talbot County Department of Corrections and Shane M. Harmon and Jakyra B. Maker of the Caroline County Department of Corrections.
