Carey named to national board

Kelly Carey, director of continuing education and workforce development transportation for Wor-Wic Community College, has been elected to the board of directors of the National Association of Publicly Funded Truck Driving Schools (NAPFTDS).

Carey will serve a three-year term on the board of NAPFTDS, which serves schools and carriers to help inform and guide them regarding the changing truck driving industry.

Carey has attended the organization’s regional meeting and the national conference every year since she began at Wor-Wic in 2017. Carey holds a bachelor’s degree from Salisbury University and a master’s degree from University of Maryland Global Campus in Adelphi. She completed both the truck driver training and motorcycle safety programs at Wor-Wic and has experience as a commercial truck driver, holding a class A commercial driver’s license and a motorcycle license.

In her current role, Carey oversees transportation curriculum and staff at Wor-Wic, including training for class A and B licenses. Visit www.worwic.edu to learn more about the program.
