Ilyana Kadushin is the executive director of Stories Love Music and brings a wide range of experience to her teaching. She has served as an adjunct faculty member at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she taught voice and public speaking to advanced students. More recently, she has been a workshop facilitator for Stories Love Music, leading The Joy of Creative Engagement program. The program highlights music’s humanizing power, especially in health settings like memory care units, where it can rejuvenate patients’ spirits and enliven memories.
Starting in spring 2026, Kadushin will bring her Joy of Creative Engagement course to Wor-Wic. Although this will be her first time teaching here, Wor-Wic is not new to her, as her father taught human relations and psychology at the college for 30 years.
This course will be especially valuable for students entering health care fields such as nursing, senior care and memory care. It offers a personal and creative approach to training, using art-based activities to support the mental and emotional health of both caregivers and the people they care for.
She is passionate about a growing movement called neuroarts, developed through research at Johns Hopkins and practiced around the world. Neuroarts explores how art can help address challenges related to brain and memory health.
As she shares, “Music’s power extends beyond personal relaxation — it can strengthen the connection between caregivers and those they care for.”
