Hoy receives chief executive officer award

Dr. Ray Hoy, president of Wor-Wic Community College, recently received the 2021 Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Northeast Regional Chief Executive Officer Award.

The following students completed their program requirements to graduate with a certificate (CT), associate of applied science (AAS), associate of arts in teaching (AAT), associate of science (AS) or associate of arts (AA) degree from Wor-Wic Community College this past summer.

Jail and correctional officers graduate

Thirty-two jail and correctional officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset and Talbot counties graduated in the 112th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

The Wor-Wic Community College Foundation held its annual 5K Run/Walk for Wor-Wic, along with the 2021 Law Enforcement Team Cup Challenge, at the college campus in Salisbury.

Presentation on Spain to be held Oct. 7

Wor-Wic Community College is inviting the public to a free presentation on Spain with Dr. David Mongor-Lizarrabengoa, assistant professor of Spanish, on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 6:30 p.m., via Zoom. The presentation will include the culture, economy, traditions, languages, religion, music, political system, ethnic groups and historical places.

Kallarakal joins Wor-Wic

Wor-Wic Community College recently welcomed Dr. Andria Kallarakal of Salisbury as human services department head and associate professor of social science.

Wor-Wic kicks off $10 million campaign

Dr. Ray Hoy, president of Wor-Wic Community College, announced the start of the public phase of a $10 million fundraising campaign called “Preparing for a Stronger Tomorrow” at a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new applied technology building that will begin on campus this fall.
