Online publishing course begins Sept. 16

Wor-Wic Community College is offering an online course called “Publish and Sell Your E-Books.” This six-week course begins Sept. 16, with additional start dates of Oct. 14, Nov. 11 and Dec. 9.

In-person ceremony held

Wor-Wic Community College commencement ceremonies were recently held outdoors at the Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, in accordance with all state and CDC guidelines, including social distancing, timed arrivals and mask wearing. Graduates were limited to two guests and everyone needed a ticket to enter.

Non-credit courses begin in September

The schedule of classes being offered this fall by the continuing education and workforce development division at Wor-Wic Community College is now available.

CDL course completer delivers during pandemic

Angela Martin, a retired school teacher, was working as a substitute for the Worcester County public school system when she heard the call of the open road. Martin said that she always wanted to drive “over the road.” With her fiancé working as a carpenter with his commercial driver’s license (CDL), she came up with the idea to get her CDL so that they could travel and work together as a second career for both of them.

Nurse heeds call for help during pandemic

Kendra Goris of Berlin was working full time as a registered nurse in the Jose F. Alvarado and Associates pediatric office and part time at the Wicomico County Department of Corrections, both in Salisbury, when the pandemic hit the United States.
