Wor-Wic’s Fall Dean’s List Announced

A total of 593 Wor-Wic Community College students have been recognized for superior performance by being named to the dean’s list for the recently-completed fall semester.

Free Resume Workshop to be Held Feb. 22

The public is invited to a free resume and job search workshop on Friday, Feb. 22, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., in Room 302 of the Hazel Center at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

March 8 is ACT Deadline

Area residents have until Friday, March 8, to register for the American College Testing (ACT) examination, which is being offered by Wor-Wic Community College on Saturday, April 13, at 7:30 a.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Free Movie Showing on Feb. 20

In celebration of African-American history month, a free movie showing of “Their Eyes Were Watching God” will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m., in Room 302 of the Hazel Center at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

Dr. King to Lecture about Zora Neale Hurston on Feb. 19

In celebration of African-American history month, Dr. James King, an assistant professor of English at Salisbury University, will give a free lecture called “Zora Neale Hurston and the End of the Harlem Renaissance,” on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m., in Room 109 of the Allied Health Building at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

Smithsonian Researcher to Present on Feb. 13

In celebration of African-American history month, Deborah Salahu-Din will give a free presentation called “The National Museum of African American History and Culture: Fostering Cultural Understanding through Exhibitions and Programs,” on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m., in Guerrieri Hall at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

Financial Aid Workshops to be Held at Wor-Wic

“FAFSA on the Web,” a series of free financial aid workshops for anyone planning to attend college, will be held on Mondays and Thursdays throughout February, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., in Room 111 of the Academic and Administrative Building at Wor-Wic Community College on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

“You Can Afford College” to be Held Feb. 2

Area high school students and their parents can get free help with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by attending “You Can Afford College” at Wor-Wic Community College on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 9 to 11 a.m., in Room 103 of the Workforce Development Center at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
