Wor-Wic education graduates fill community need

Across Maryland, there are widespread vacancies in teaching positions, especially in early childhood, elementary and special education, according to a 2022 Maryland Department of Education report. Wor-Wic Community College is working to help the Lower Shore meet this critical need.

Wor-Wic to hold scholarship information night

Wor-Wic Community College is inviting prospective and current students and their parents to learn how to apply at a Promise Scholarship Information night on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m. at Guerrieri Hall on the campus at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Promise scholarship can give students a financial boost

The U.S. Census Bureau’s most recent data shows that median household income on the Lower Eastern Shore is under $60,000. That means the average resident who wants to go back to school at Wor-Wic Community College could be eligible not only for federal financial aid but also the Maryland Community College Promise Scholarship, a “last-dollar” scholarship that covers any remaining costs after other state and federal aid is applied.

Adult basic education graduates

Wor-Wic Community College recently held a graduation ceremony for area residents who earned their high school diplomas through the adult education services offered by the college.

Non-credit course registration now available

Registration for classes being offered this spring by the continuing education and workforce development division at Wor-Wic Community College is now available. Classes begin Jan. 9.

Wor-Wic to host enrollment info session and campus tour

Wor-Wic Community College will hold an information session about how to apply and enroll on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m., in room 308 of Fulton-Owen Hall on the campus at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
