IBEW Apprenticeship Program
For more information about becoming a journeyman electrician through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) union apprenticeship program, please contact 410-247-3313. During this five-year program, you are normally hired by a partnered electrical company and have on the job training and work during the day, while completing electrical course work through Wor-Wic during the evening.

 

IEC Apprenticeship Program
For more information about becoming a journeyman electrician through the International Electrical Contractors (IEC) nonunion apprenticeship program, please contact 301-621-9545. During this four-year program, you are normally hired by a partnered electrical company and have on the job training and work during the day, while completing electrical course work through Wor-Wic during the evening.

 

Prepare for a Career in the Energy Industry

Delmarva Power, in partnership with contracted vendors in the Exelon Corporation, has job opportunities available. To prepare you to take Delmarva Power's pre-employment exam, Wor-Wic is offering a "Get Into Energy" math and test preparation course. The focus will be on basic math and problem-solving techniques, reading comprehension, employment readiness and basic mechanical concepts. Tuition cost is $25. Interested applicants are required to attend one of several information sessions being held at Wor-Wic in May, June, July and August. Electrical Wiring Technician

Prepare for employment as an entry-level electrical wiring technician or through this pre-apprenticeship course, possible entry into one of two electrical apprenticeship programs. Our introductory electrical wiring technician course provides a basic understanding of electrical theory and calculations, hands-on experience in wiring electrical circuits, receptacles and switches, as well as experience in conduit installation.
