Testing Services for Currently Enrolled Students
We offer testing for online students and makeup test services for students that have missed an exam. We also accommodate the testing needs of students with a documented disability.
Students Enrolled in Online or Hybrid Classes
Your instructor may request that you take certain tests/quizzes on site in the Testing Center.
These tests will have a “testing window” of several days. Please check your syllabus or other communication from your instructor to be sure of the dates your test will be available.
Some tests for online and hybrid classes are computer based; others are paper-and-pencil tests. Your instructor should inform you which type of test you will be taking.
For computer-based tests, be sure you know your Blackboard login and password. You should also know where to find the test within your class Blackboard website.
All Testing Center requirements for identification and use of electronic devices apply for any test you take for an online or hybrid class.
Always allow yourself ample time before the Center closes so that you can finish the test.
Students Needing to Take Make-Up Tests
If you are unable to take a test or quiz in your face-to-face class or during the allotted test window for an online or hybrid class, your instructor may allow you to make up the test at a different time.
Please verify with your instructor that a make-up test request has been sent to the Testing Center and verify the deadline by which you must take the test.
No tests will be administered after the deadline set by an instructor. We will inform your instructor that the test has expired. The instructor may extend the deadline for you. It is your responsibility to communicate with your instructor about the availability of a test.
All Testing Center requirements for identification and use of electronic devices apply for any make-up test.
Always allow yourself ample time before the Center closes so that you can finish the test.
Accommodations Available in the Testing Center
Students with a documented disability may be entitled to accommodations for taking tests and quizzes.
All requests for accommodations must be filed with the Academic and Disabilities Counselor prior to the beginning of a semester.
Your instructor will receive notice from the Academic and Disabilities Counselor indicating the specific accommodation to which you are entitled.
The accommodation should be noted on the Test Request form that your instructor files with the Testing Center.
The Testing Center offers these accommodations:
Kurzweil Reader to read tests for you
Extended time
Reduced distraction environment
Paper-Pencil versions of the placement tests
Tests with accommodations are governed by the same guidelines as those for make-up tests. Please refer to those guidelines before coming to the Testing Center.
