Dental assistants help prepare patients for their examinations, assist the dentist during dental procedures and make sure a dentist’s office runs smoothly. Whether assisting with x-rays, dental lab work or instructing patients on proper dental hygiene, the dental assistant is important to successful dentistry.

There are several requirements for those interested in registering for dental assisting courses, including placement testing and attending an information session.

How To Get Registered For The
Dental Assistant Program

This program fills up fast!
Many people want to join this program, and there may not be enough spots for everyone.
If you want to start a career as a Dental Assistant, you need to finish all the steps quickly.
The sooner you finish, the better your chance of getting a seat in the class or
being added to the waiting list.
Get started below.

  1. Click the “Apply to Wor-Wic” button below. Follow the
    steps to fill out your application.
  2. Wait for an email. After your application is accepted, you’ll get some emails welcoming you to the college. It may take a few days to receive these emails.
  3. Read the emails carefully. These emails will tell you what to do next to join the Dental Assistant program, such as:
    • Take a career assessment (this is required).
    • Make an appointment with an enrollment coach (this is required).
    • At your appointment: The coach will tell you if you need to take a reading or math test.

Don’t forget! There are two more steps that you also need to finish if
you haven’t yet completed them, Step 2: Apply to the Dental Assistant Course and Step 3: Attend a Dental Assistant Information Session.

  1. Click the “Apply to the Dental Assistant Course” button below. Follow the
    steps to fill out your application.
  2. Wait to hear from us. After you finish all the steps, we’ll let you know when
    there’s a spot open for you in the class.
  3. Pay for the course. You must pay at least 10 days before the class starts. If you need help paying, visit our financial assistance page to learn about your options.
  4. Act fast! This program is very popular. There may be more people who want to join than there are spots. To get a seat or be added to the waiting list, finish all the steps as soon as you can.

Attend a Dental Assistant Information Session

You must attend a Dental Assistant Information Session before joining the program.

In this session, you will:

  • Learn what a Dental Assistant does at work.
  • Find out what you need to do in class.
  • Hear about ways to get help paying for the course.
  • Decide if becoming a Dental Assistant is the right job for you.

The session is online using Zoom.
Click the Zoom link below about 5 minutes before the session starts. The teacher
will let you into the meeting.

Upcoming Mandatory Information Sessions

Before you can complete your course application, you must complete one of the following information sessions, which are offered via Zoom:

Th 10/16 10 – 11 a.m.
Th 11/20 10 – 11 a.m.
Th 12/18 10 – 11 a.m.
