STEM covers a wide range of occupations that require the ability to think analytically, logically and creatively in order to solve real world problems. Our dedicated and highly-skilled faculty — combined with small class sizes — can help you to be successful during the first two years of a STEM degree.

You can explore general STEM disciplines or choose an area of concentration in biology, chemistry, chemistry: pre-pharmacy, engineering, mathematics or physics. These transfer programs include the science, math and general education courses required in the first two years of a bachelor’s degree program.

Degree Programs

  • STEM Transfer A.S. Provides a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of STEM for students who are interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in integrated, applied or interdisciplinary sciences or for students whose desired STEM transfer major is not represented in one of the areas of concentration offered.
  • Biology Transfer A.S. Includes courses usually required during the first two years of a bachelor’s degree for students pursuing careers in education, research, genetics, food safety, bioinformatics, microbiology, environmental management and conservation, pharmaceutical sales or laboratory science, as well as professions such as medicine, veterinary science, dentistry or mortuary science.
  • Chemistry Transfer A.S. Includes courses usually required during the first two years of a bachelor’s degree for students pursuing careers in biochemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, chemical sales and marketing, toxicology, forensic chemistry, public health, education, research or laboratory management.
  • Chemistry Pre-Pharmacy Transfer A.S. Includes courses usually required for students pursuing an accelerated track to a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a doctor of pharmacy degree.
  • Engineering Transfer A.S. Includes courses usually required during the first two years of a bachelor’s degree for students pursuing careers in aerospace, agricultural, biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, industrial, mechanical or nuclear engineering.
  • Mathematics Transfer A.S. Includes courses usually required during the first two years of a bachelor’s degree for students pursuing careers in banking and finance, actuarial science, computer science, data science, systems analytics, education, research, market research or statistics.
  • Physics Transfer A.S. Includes courses usually required during the first two years of a bachelor’s degree for students pursuing careers in systems engineering, research, education, software engineering or manufacturing/mechanical engineering.

STEM Honors Program

First STEM honors graduatesThe STEM honors program provides qualified students seeking a STEM transfer degree with a chance to challenge their potential through enriched learning experiences and a capstone undergraduate research project.

Students are engaged with faculty in collaborative inquiry outside of their normal STEM classes and are challenged to become inquisitive, critical thinkers by exploring STEM topics during independent research with a STEM faculty member.

The STEM honors program prepares students to transfer and excel academically in a STEM degree at a four year college or university and is a great way to prepare for graduate or professional school.
